You’ve proven the product — customers reorder, and the business works. But scaling production, cracking distribution, and financing growth take specialized know-how that no general small-business program teaches. That’s what this accelerator delivers.
Cohort 1 runs October 2026 – May 2027 and includes:
Monthly workshops covering finance & capital, production scaling, food safety, distribution, marketing, legal/IP, leadership, and growth planning
Monthly 1:1 coaching with the Program Director
A paid expert network in distribution, compliance, CPG finance, branding, and more
Industry introductions to distributors, buyers, co-packers, and investors
A peer cohort of 8–10 growth-stage founders, plus a lasting alumni network
There is no cost to participate in Cohort 1 — the program is fully grant-funded.
Who should apply
Packaged food or beverage manufacturers (non-alcoholic) with a business or founder home in the City of Charlottesville, or Albemarle, Fauquier, Madison, Nelson, or Orange County — or a documented willingness to relocate operations to one of the six. Roughly $100,000+ in annual revenue, or a clear 12-month path to it; current licenses and permits; a full-time founder (or one moving to full-time).

Who should apply
Packaged food and beverage makers (non-alcoholic) ready to scale. You’re a good fit if:
- At least one founder is full-time, or moving to full-time
- You make a packaged food or non-alcoholic beverage product
- Your business or founder home is in the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fauquier, Madison, Nelson, or Orange County
- You’re at roughly $100,000+ in annual revenue, or have a clear 12-month path to it
- Your licenses and permits are current

How applications are reviewed:
Applications are read by a Selection Committee that includes Advisory Board members and investment representatives. We know rural food businesses often have less access to commercial markets. The Committee therefore gives added consideration to rural businesses at earlier growth stages relative to urban and suburban peers. Geographic representation across the region factors into how each cohort is composed, and any committee member with a conflict of interest is recused.
