Venture Central is hiring a Project Manager to support our Regional Investment Strategy project. This position can be full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours) through the end of 2024. It is a great 'foot in the door' to the growing Central Virginia entrepreneur support organizations that are assisting with this project. This position will not only meet our regions' exciting entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders, but will get to work with the 434.co, Community Investment Collaborative and SBDC teams. Program Manager
CIC and Venture Central are leading the development of a Regional Entrepreneurial Investment (REI) Strategy for GO Virginia Region 9. Venture Central seeks a program manager who will be responsible for managing the REI Strategy development and delivery.
Note: the REI Strategy grant will fund the program manager position for approximately 10 months (through December 2024). Continuation of the program manager position thereafter will be subject to the identification of an ongoing business need and secured funding.
Job Summary
The program manager will be responsible for organizing the planning and execution of the development of the REI Strategy for GO Virginia Region 9 under the supervision of the President of CIC and in close consultation with the Managing Director of Venture Central. The program manager is responsible for ensuring that the REI Strategy is developed according to the proposed and approved budget and timeline and that the REI Strategy achieves the promised deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities
Within the limits of the CIC’s programs, policies, procedures, and budget, the program manager is responsible for and has authority to perform the duties listed below:

Support partners, consultants, and staff in the development of the REI Strategy for GO Virginia Region 9

Organize and arrange documentation of project components to ensure timely achievement of milestones and deliverables

Coordinate the administration of a survey and convene regional stakeholders to gather the input required to inform the REI Strategy fully

Manage project budget, deliverables, and grant reporting

Convene entrepreneurs and partners that work within Region 9’s target sectors

Support the development of follow-up local ecosystem integration plans

Engage with and update the GO Virginia Region 9 Council, economic development partners, and other entrepreneur support organizations as needed

Arrange meetings and events as needed to support the outreach, engagement, and input needed for development of the REI Strategy
Required Qualifications

Experience in project management and/or formal education or certification in project management

Self-starter with the ability to manage goals, time, and deadlines effectively

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Ability to plan several aspects of a project by supervising team members and maintaining the planning schedule

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite

Reliable transportation

Knowledge of entrepreneurial ecosystem building
COMPENSATION
Compensation is $60,000 - $70,000 annually with health insurance and a retirement plan for a full time position. A part time role may be considered.

This position offers remote work, in-office opportunities at 300 Preston Avenue, Charlottesville, and limited regional travel. Go Virginia Region 9 includes the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Nelson, Madison, Greene, Orange, Culpeper, Rappahannock, Fluvanna, Fauquier and Louisa. Mileage will be reimbursed for work travel beyond 10 miles from the Charlottesville office. The recipient of the role will be joining the growing Venture Central and Community Investment Collaborative teams, which include the programs of 434.co and the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center.
